BMC Service Bulletin - Carburetor Flooding and Fuel Starvation (Sprite MKII/IIa, BJ7)

Attached is an original service bulletin from BMC Australia. The text of the bulletin is as follows.

CARBURETTER FLOODING AND FUEL STARVATION

Instances of flooding and fuel starvation have been traced to the new type of spring-loaded 'Delrin' float needle and seat assembly, Part No. AUD.9096. The needle body 'A' sticks against the walls of seat 'B', owing to swelling of the nylon under the influence of certain fuels.

To obviate this trouble the seat bore has been increased from .2445" to .2475"/.2485, groove 'C' having been added to the needle seat to enable the modified assembly to be readily identified.
