Austin-Healey produced cars until 1972 when the 20-year agreement between Healey and Austin came to an end. Donald Healey left the company in 1968 when British Motor Holdings (BMC had merged with Jaguar Cars in 1966 to form BMH) was merged into British Leyland.

I bought an Austin Healey from 1960 in California and imported it to Switzerland. After a 3 year renovation I would like to register the car in Switzerland but the autorothies demand a "registration card" or "vehicle registration information record" from the DMV or a "vehicle history report (NMVTIS)" - that showes the date of when the car was first registred (more then 30 years ago). I have the certificate of title but there is no info of when the car was first registred in california and this is a big problem - I have a VIN number: HBT7L2499 but the NMVTIS requires a 17 digit number - so now I'm sitting here in Switzerland and need a certificated report for the first registration of this car - is there any way to get sombody to get this certificate? If you have any idea I would really appriciate!!!! perhaps somebody can help me to...
